Alyssa,
It was a surprise to see a post on my new web page. It’s been down for a few months. Starting from scratch again.
Here is the info you requested on Windsurfing Lessons:
The 3-hour Beginner Lesson is an all inclusive lesson that takes you from knowing nothing about windsurfing, to putting the equipment together, to getting the sail up and turning the board around, to sailing back and forth for about an hour.
The 3-hour Beginner Lesson is $180/adult, $150/child 17 and under. The beginner lesson includes all the equipment. I give discount to groups of 5 or more.
Additional lessons are $120 for a 2-hour lesson on your equipment, or $150 on my equipment.
I highly recommend taking the Beginner Lesson before you buy equipment.
That way I can give you some equipment recommendations based on how the lesson went, and what your goals are.
The weekend Beginner Lessons are at scheduled times from June through mid September:
Saturday 10am-1pm and 1:30-4:30pm
Sunday 1:30-4:30pm
Lessons during the week may be available as well.
If it is a private lesson, we’re usually done in 2 hours.
Payment is cash or check, I am not setup for credit cards.
The lessons are usually on Lake Calhoun, for safety reasons. Only non-motorized boats are allowed on the lake for personal use.
Class sizes for the Beginner Lesson is 2 to 4 students. I can handle large groups as well, I just need a little longer notice to line up some additional help. Call or email for pricing on your group size.
Please email or call to schedule a lesson, or if you have additional questions.
Looking for used equipment for our 13 yr old son. Has been windsurfing for 3 summers, limited exp but not a beginner. Weighs 78 lbs and is 58 inch tall. Any more info on swap meet would be great too. Thanks, emily

Hi Jeff,
I’m writing to you inquire if you still provide windsurfing lessons. I have 3 younger children (12, 11 and 9) who would possibly be interested this summer. Thanks so much! Vivienne

Took a brief wind surfing lesson with 6 family members in Florida. Would like to learn more. My adult children and grandchildren had a blast and plan to buy a couple boards. I am 58. Would like to try another lesson to see if this is something I would like to invest in as well.
How much are your lessons? Also I want to be one more aware of what I’m buying before I do if I decide to go that route.

Hi Jeff,
I used to sailboard, but haven’t in a long time. I have some equipment that I no longer know how to put together, and I don’t know which parts go with which rigs. I am looking for help making sense of what I have, and then sailing on my equipment, or yours, depending on what we come up with and if I have a rig that makes sense for the weather the day we go out. I don’t think I need a beginner lesson, but definitely a refresher course on rigging. I never was able to do water starts, but I could mess around on Lake Calhoun just fine with small white caps. Would this work for you?
